2024 in Review
We have a secret to share.
At the time, we didn’t think it was revolutionary to start the New England Musicians Resource Fund. Maybe we are a bit stoic looking back, but we are also incredibly hopeful as we look ahead to 2025 and our 5-year anniversary.
As a community, we are here to lean on each other, in good times and in challenging times. We distributed over $80,000 financial relief grants to freelance musicians. We launched the Musicians of New England series to showcase exceptional musical talent across New England. We hosted our inaugural NEMRF Talks workshops focused on the business essentials and legacy planning for musicians. We created the Alyssa Daly Fund to help our colleague facing colon cancer. All initiatives helped us grow our audience, reach more musicians and continue to build capacity to offer more resources for musicians in New England.
We remain grateful to continue to build our partnerships, especially those that allow us to provide musicians with access to legal services and mental health services.
This year was only possible because of our community. That’s YOU.
This might not be as revolutionary compared to what they were up to 250 years ago just down the road from us (literally), but we know how to move the needle. Countless musicians depend on us, and we will continue our work to reach more musicians in 2025.
Thank you for supporting musicians in your life across New England, and recognizing the power of music. Wishing you and your family a very happy New Year!
