Angel Subero
This week we are featuring Angel Subero, Bass Trombonist and Latin/Salsa Star. Originally from Venezuela, Angel has been freelancing in Boston for over 15 years.
THEN: Before COVID, Angel was busy playing with the Top Classical, Jazz, Contemporary and Latin groups on the East Coast. He is also on faculty at Boston Conservatory, Berklee, and Longy School of Music.

NOW: With the clubs and halls dark, Angel has lost 70% of his income stream, but he keeps busy learning more about technology, recording, and online tools. He writes that "I appreciate that this technology allows me to connect with colleagues and students overseas, but nothing will ever replace the experience of being in person with students; being able to play and interact with students in real time is critical to the teaching/learning process.
HOPE: "Feeling the energy that everyone brings to live performances is magical and special. Boston is a wonderful place with an incredibly high level of musicianship, and I truly can’t wait to be on stage again with my dear friends and colleagues.”
