In December 2023, my recording and teaching studio flooded twice, in back to back weekends, and was left submerged in 4 inches of water. Our home insurance didn’t cover this type of flooding, so my wife and I had to do much of the reconstruction work ourselves, putting us both out of work. My instruments were damaged and I was unable to record or teach from my home for five months. Our situation became overwhelming so I applied for an NEMRF grant, which was a lifesaver. I can’t say enough about the people and the mission of the New England Musicians Resource Fund.
