Kendall Ramseur is a cellist, singer-songwriter, and composer. He is the cellist of the Sons of Serendip.

BEFORE: Pre-COVID, Kendall was touring the United States with the Sons of Serendip. Sons of Serendip were finalists on Season 9 of Americas Got Talent, and 2020 appeared as if it would be their best year yet. They had more shows scheduled than ever before, and had just performed for Oprah’s end of tour after-party. Kendall reflects on touring, “While on tour, we had the opportunity to see parts of the country that we would have never seen and to perform in venues that we would have never performed in. The journey was absolutely beautiful.”

NOW: Then Covid hit. Their booking agent called and informed them that the rest of the tour would be canceled due to safety concerns. That was 40-50 shows cancelled overnight. It was a huge hit financially for the group collectively but also individually, since touring with Sons of Serendip was the main source of income for all the members. Kendall got to work pivoting into the virtual world. Sons of Serendip have given virtual concerts and recently released their fourth album titled “Mosaic”. Kendall started doing more solo performances virtually for organizations across the country who were holding virtual conferences. He also recorded and released a solo cello album titled “Selah” and his first single “Noël” in preparation for the holidays.

HOPE: Kendall is resilient and optimistic. He says, “COVID has flipped my world upside down and has taken a huge toll on my finances, but I am grateful that this experience has caused me to be more creative, more thoughtful, more intentional with my approach to music and music creation. I believe that music has the power to comfort and heal and I am grateful to have a talent that can help offer some solace in these challenging times.”
